Malik K, et al. - The goal of this study was to investigate if HDM APT reproduces AD. Findings demonstrated that HDM APT did not fully simulate AD. It was noted that while causing significant Th2 skewing, HDM also illustrated differences in Th2 induction and barrier defects. With widespread availability and sensitization rates, HDM may potentially be a beneficial tool that represents select aspects of AD, psoriasis, or contact dermatitis.
