Dural recurrence among esthesioneuroblastoma patients presenting with intracranial extension
The Laryngoscope May 25, 2018
Yu Y, et al. - Experts sought to quantify the rate of late intracranial recurrences among esthesioneuroblastoma patients treated with surgical resection and postoperative radiation. They reviewed all patients receiving definitive-intent therapy for esthesioneuroblastoma between March 1995 and September 2015. A substantial and unique risk of long-term dural-based relapse was seen in the esthesioneuroblastoma patients presenting with intracranial extension. The median survival time after dural recurrence was 42 months (range, 12–125); in rare cases of isolated low-volume recurrence, the effectiveness of salvage treatments was seen.
