Durability of hepatitis B surface antigen seroclearance in untreated and nucleos(t)ide analogue-treated patients
Journal of Hepatology Oct 11, 2017
Yip TCF, et al. - Researchers, in this study, examined the effect of hepatitis B surface antibody (anti-HBs) and duration of consolidation antiviral therapy on the durability of hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) seroclearance. They concluded that nucleos(t)ide analogues (NA)-induced HBsAg seroclearance was as durable as spontaneous HBsAg seroclearance. Before stopping treatment, NA-treated patients seemed to have no necessity for positive anti-HBs. Longer consolidation NA treatment could result in more durable HBsAg seroclearance.
