Dual vs triple antithrombotic therapy after percutaneous coronary intervention or acute coronary syndrome in patients with indication for anticoagulation: An updated meta-analysis
Coronary Artery Disease Dec 06, 2018
Shin D, et al. – In this meta-analysis, researchers assessed whether dual therapy with an oral anticoagulant and single antiplatelet agent could be used following percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) or acute coronary syndrome in patients with indication for anticoagulation, instead of triple therapy with an oral anticoagulant and dual antiplatelet therapy. They performed a meta-analysis of 12 observational studies and 4 clinical trials identified from 3 electronic databases from their inception to December 2017. A random-effects model was used to calculate pooled estimates. Based on findings, dual therapy may be a reasonable alternative to triple therapy after PCI in patients with indication for chronic anticoagulation.
