Dual antiplatelet therapy reduced stroke risk in high-risk patients with transient ischaemic attack assessed by ABCD3-I score
European Journal of Neurology Dec 21, 2018
Song B, et al. - This study draws on data from the transient ischaemic attack (TIA) database of The First Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou University to determine if the ABCD3-I score could be a more suitable tool for selecting patients with TIA to receive dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) in real-world settings. Findings revealed that DAPT reduced the risk of stroke 90 days in high-risk TIA patients as independently assessed by the ABCD3-I score. In real-world clinical experience, high-risk patients with TIA evaluated by ABCD3-I score received the most pronounced clinical benefit from early use of DAPT. There was no benefit in ABCD3-I score for low- and medium- risk patients.
