Dry eye treatment with topical cyclosporine 0.1% in chondroitin sulfate ophthalmic emulsion
Clinical Ophthalmology May 13, 2021
Matossian C, et al. - Researchers conducted this retrospective multicenter study to assess the effectiveness of topical cyclosporine 0.1% in chondroitin sulfate emulsion for the treatment of dry eye. Between April and July 2019, they involved 100 eyes of 50 dry eye patients aged ≥ 18 years, with preoperative ocular surface disease index score > 12 or corneal staining grade > 1 (in either eye) who underwent dry eye treatment with topical cyclosporine 0.1% in chondroitin sulfate emulsion (Klarity-C, ImprimisRx) for 3 months. Dry eye treatment with twice-daily cyclosporine 0.1% in chondroitin sulfate emulsion was found to be both safe and effective in reducing dry eye signs and symptoms. The treatment was found to be safe in the study, with no adverse effects reported.
