Graefe's Archive for Clinical and Experimental Ophthalmology Mar 18, 2021
Jhingan M, Singh SR, Samanta A, et al. - In this multi-centric retrospective observational case series, researchers sought to assess the natural history of drusen ooze and its role as a predictor for the progression of dry age-related macular degeneration (AMD) longitudinally. The sample consisted of 72 patients (72 eyes) with dry AMD with a minimum follow-up of 4 years. A total of 72 eyes with a mean follow-up of 68.89 (± 25.57 months) have been studied. Drusen ooze is a useful sign in dry AMD for anticipating progression to incomplete retinal pigment epithelium and outer retinal atrophy and complete retinal pigment epithelium and outer retinal atrophy over time.
