Zeng C, et al. - This article was written with the objective to evaluate serum magnesium levels in connection to the prevalence of knee chondrocalcinosis in two population-based Chinese studies. Subjects with lower levels of serum magnesium, even within the normal range, had the higher prevalence of knee chondrocalcinosis in a dose-response relationship manner, recommending that magnesium may have a preventive or therapeutic potential for knee chondrocalcinosis.
