Dopamine D2-receptor antagonist droperidol deepens sevoflurane anesthesia
Anesthesiology Mar 19, 2018
Araki R, et al. - This study was designed to determine the impact of the D2 receptor antagonist droperidol on sevoflurane anesthesia via examining α and slow wave electroencephalogram oscillations. Findings demonstrated droperidol-induced augmentation in both α and δ-θ bicoherences while shifting the α-bicoherence peaks to lower frequencies. Furthermore, through γ-aminobutyric acid–mediated oscillatory network regulation, droperidol enhanced the impact of sevoflurane anesthesia on the electroencephalogram.
