Door-to-balloon time and cardiac mortality in acute myocardial infarction by total occlusion of the left circumflex artery
Coronary Artery Disease Aug 01, 2018
Kang MG, et al. - Researchers used the Korea Acute Myocardial Infarction Registry to assess if door-to-balloon time is related to cardiac mortality in patients with total occlusion of the left circumflex artery (LCX). Study participants included patients with acute myocardial infarction who had total occlusion with a Thrombolysis In Myocardial Infarction flow grade of 0. According to findings, LCX occlusion played significantly in the delay of primary percutaneous coronary intervention, because it presented as non-ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction. In this study population, no association was found between cardiac mortality and DBT more than 90 minutes, but cardiac mortality was found to be related to ST-segment elevation in these patients.
