Does new instrument for oxford unicompartmental knee arthroplasty improve short-term clinical outcome and component alignment? a meta-analysis
Journal of Orthopaedic Surgery and Research Sep 10, 2020
Sun XW, Lu FF, Zou K, et al. - This study was attempted to target short-term clinical and radiological outcomes to determine whether the microplasty (MP) instrumentation can reduce the short-term revision rate and occurrence of outliers of metallic components. Researchers carried out to search PubMed, Embase, the Cochrane Library, and Web of Science up to May 2020. The meta-analysis included a total of seven studies. For Oxford unicompartmental knee arthroplasty, the newly developed MP instrumentation significantly decreased the revision rate of this treatment. It was demonstrated that the positioning of the femoral component was also proven to be better by radiological assessments.
