Does long-term success from endoscopic DCR correlate with early post-operative reduction in tearing?
American Journal of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Medicine and Surgery Jul 14, 2018
Golan S, et al. - Researchers ascertained the relationship between early post-operative improvement in tearing and the long-term success rate of endoscopic dacryocystorhinostomy (eDCR). The early initial post-operative assessment of tearing resolution was seen to be strongly associated with the long-term result of eDCR. Findings suggested an association between postoperative improvement in epiphora within 2 weeks of surgery or lack thereof and long-term success or failure of the procedure in 45 out of 47 (96%) cases.
