Does blindness affect ocular vestibular evoked myogenic potentials?
American Journal of Otolaryngology Mar 09, 2018
Bayram A, et al. - Authors aimed to assess the influence of blindness on ocular vestibular evoked myogenic potentials (oVEMP) responses. No significant difference in terms of latency, amplitude, and amplitude asymmetry ratio value was noted between the blind side and the contralateral eye of the unilateral blindness group and the control subjects. Results demonstrated that as long as the eyeball and extraocular muscles were preserved in a blind eye, clear oVEMP recordings could be elicited.
