Does a hyperechogenic endometrial mass in the uterus during controlled ovarian stimulation affect assisted reproductive technology cycle outcomes?
European Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Reproductive Biology Apr 24, 2020
Deng K, Zhang M, Kong WY, et al. - Researchers examined if and how assisted reproductive technology (ART) cycle outcomes are affected by an hyperechogenic endometrial mass (HEM). Data from patients who underwent in-vitro fertilization or intracytoplasmic sperm injection treatment cycles from January 1, 2009 to December 31, 2016 at their institution were retrieved for this analysis. Among 1,088 patients diagnosed with an HEM, 426 met the inclusion criteria. The included cases were matched with 852 controls. In this study, the outcomes of ART following controlled ovarian stimulation were not identified affected with newly diagnosed HEMs < 18 mm in diameter monitored by transvaginal ultrasonography. Based on findings, they recommend completion of ART cycles in such cases if other conditions are suitable.
