Walensky RP, et al. – The goal of this paper was to analyze the clinical, epidemiologic, and budgetary consequences of alternative HIV program scale–back strategies in 2 recipient nations, the Republic of South Africa (RSA) and Côte d'Ivoire (CI). The results displayed that scaling back international aid to HIV programs would exhibit severe adverse clinical consequences. Few programmatic scale–back choices led to less harm than others, for similar economic savings.
