Do headache patients require more care in between visits than other neurology outpatients?
Headache: The Journal of Head and Face Pain Jul 25, 2018
Brilla R, et al. - Whether or not headache outpatients need a high level of care in addition to clinic visits, based on the quantity of remote encounters per patient (phone calls and secure email communication to the clinics), vs other neurologic clinics was investigated. A greater need for a high level of remote outpatient care was noted for patients in a headache clinic in an academic tertiary care setting, vs patients in other neurology subspecialty clinics and a general neurology clinic, with the exception of the neuroimmunology/MS clinic. To a large extent, this finding seemed secondary to the very frequent use of secure email linked to the electronic medical record by headache patients.
