Long B, et al. - Researchers observed a reduction in treatment failure in correlation with antibiotics reception among chronic obstructive pulmonary disease patients with acute mild to moderate exacerbations. Among patients with severe exacerbation who are admitted to an ICU, antibiotics administration leads to reduced mortality and treatment failure. Furthermore, hospitalized patients may also benefit from antibiotics administration.
