DNA methylation PCR array of apoptosis-related genes in pleomorphic adenomas of the salivary glands
Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, Oral Radiology Aug 29, 2017
Pereira NB, et al. – Physicians designed this study to assess the DNA methylation profile in 22 apoptosis–related genes in pleomorphic adenomas (PA) of the salivary glands, in comparison to normal salivary glands (NSG), as well as to address the differences in methylation patterns between smaller and larger tumors. They observed hypermethylation of the pro–apoptotic genes BCL2L11 and TNFRSF25 in PA, however, this phenomenon did not impact mRNA transcription.
