DNA methylation age is associated with an altered hemostatic profile in a multi-ethnic meta-analysis
Blood Jul 28, 2018
Ward-Caviness CK, et al. - Using a meta-analysis approach, researchers investigated the relationship between measures of epigenetic aging and hemostatic factors, as well as a clotting time measure. They used European and African-ancestry members who were meta-analyzed separately and combined by means of a random effects meta-analysis for fibrinogen. The findings demonstrated that accelerated epigenetic aging was correlated with a pro-coagulation hemostatic profile, and that epigenetic aging might regulate hemostasis in part through gene transcription.
