Elizabeth M et al. – This retrospective study aimed to investigate the role of diversion in severe refractory colonic inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) in pediatric population (N = 24). The study concluded that diverting ileostomy can be successfully used to induce clinical stability in pediatric patients with refractory colonic IBD. As this is a steroid–sparing therapy, it provides additional time to clarify diagnosis.
