Stafford M, et al. - The proposition contemplated here was that cortisol patterns indicative of dysregulated hypothalamicÂpituitaryÂadrenal axis functioning would be prospectively connected with poorer well-being at follow-up. The yielded findings did not support this hypothesis. Nevertheless, replication was warranted in the prospective studies with cortisol samples over multiple days.
