Kerman HM, et al. - Experts sought to compute the quality-adjusted life years (QALYs) lost for Black knee osteoarthritis (OA) patients owing to the variations in total knee replacement (TKR) offer, acceptance and complication rates. As a result of disparities in TKR offer and complication rates, Black Americans lost 72,000 QALYs. Data indicated the urgent necessity of programs for decreasing disparities in TKR use.
