Discriminative analysis of regional evolution of iron and myelin/calcium in deep gray matter of multiple sclerosis and healthy subjects
Journal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Mar 20, 2018
Elkady AM, et al. - A discriminative analysis of regional evolution (DARE) with the intention of defining specific changes in multiple sclerosis (MS) and healthy distinguish deep gray matter (DGM) was performed. Discriminative assessment of specific DGM changes over 2 years was facilitated via DARE, in which iron and myelin/calcium changes served as the primary drivers in relapsing-remitting MS (RRMS) and progressive MS (PMS) versus age-matched controls. Specific DARE measures of MS DGM appeared to be associated with follow-up Multiple Sclerosis Severity Score (MSSS) and depicted complex disease pathology.
