Discovery of an autoantibody signature for the early diagnosis of knee osteoarthritis: Data from the Osteoarthritis Initiative
Annals of Rheumatic Diseases Nov 21, 2019
Camacho-Encina M, Balboa-Barreiro2 V, Rego-Perez I, et al. - A Nucleic-acid Programmable Protein Arrays platform was used to screen autoantibodies (AAbs) against 2,125 human proteins in sera at baseline from individuals free of radiographic knee OA (KOA) belonging to the incidence and non-exposed subcohorts of the Osteoarthritis Initiative who acquired or not, radiographic KOA during a follow-up period of 96 months in order to detect aAAbs in serum that could be beneficial to prognosticate incidence of radiographic KOA. It was discovered that to enhance the prognostication of OA development, and also to determine the time to incidence the measurement of AAbs against methionine adenosyltransferase two beta in serum might be profoundly beneficial.
