Disappearance of perihepatic lymph node enlargement after hepatitis C viral eradication with direct acting antivirals
Journal of Viral Hepatitis Nov 05, 2017
Hikita H, et al. - In view of the negative association of perihepatic lymph node enlargement (PLNE) with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) occurrence in chronic liver disease, researchers investigated the changes in the state of perihepatic lymph nodes after eradication of hepatitis C virus. In this study, after direct-acting antivirals treatment, PLNEs became undetectable in 23.8% of PLNE positive patients. They recommended further study with a longer follow up period to clarify the clinical importance of this phenomenon especially in relationship with the risk of HCC development.
