Naji L, et al. - The diagnostic accuracy of digital rectal examination (DRE) in screening for prostate cancer in primary care settings, was assessed in a review and meta-analysis. The evidence supporting its efficacy was found to be lacking considerably and therefore, in this study, a recommendation was made against routine performance of DRE to screen for prostate cancer in the primary care setting.
