Diffusional kurtosis imaging in assessing renal function and pathology of IgA nephropathy: A preliminary clinical study
Clinical Radiology Jun 22, 2018
Liu Y, et al. - Using diffusion kurtosis imaging (DKI), the researchers assessed renal fibrosis in immunoglobulin A nephropathy (IgAN). For the purpose of this investigation, 20 subjects with biopsy-proven IgAN were recruited. Based on the severity of renal fibrosis, renal biopsy specimens were scored. They examined the relationships between the DKI data and clinicopathological parameters. The findings from the present study suggested that this DKI method could be used to identify renal fibrosis in IgAN in a non-invasive manner as well as could provide additional information for characterisation and surveillance.
