Munhoz L, et al. - Experts sought to addresses the use of diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging (DWI) for paranasal sinus diseases. They evaluated the applications of DWI along with the main results and conclusions obtained by the investigators. The quality of the diagnostic hypothesis could be improved by the ADC, particularly in the differentiation between benign and malignant disease. Moreover, using the ADC, the differences between certain types of lesions could be determined. Overall, DWI and the ADC were seen to be promising methods and their incorporation into routine evaluations could be considered.
