Differentiating diffuse from focal pattern on computed tomography in multiple myeloma: Added value of a Radiomics approach

European Journal of Radiology Nov 17, 2019

Tagliafico AS, Cea M, Rossi F, et al. - Imaging data from 70 people with multiple myeloma (MM) and CT, PET-CT or MRI available prior to bone marrow transplant were retrospectively analyzed to determine whether a Radiomic approach could aid radiologists in distinguishing diffuse from focal patterns on CT. The pathological group consisted of diffuse (n = 22) and focal patterns (n = 39). Following feature reduction, nine characteristics were distinct in the diffuse and focal patterns. Thus, a Radiomics approach enhances radiological assessment of focal and diffuse pattern of MM on CT.
