Hasegawa M, et al. - The experts applied a newly developed device in order to analyze if bolus and dry swallow showed similar pressure changes in the oropharynx. They described that this device with the ability to measure baropressure had the potential to provide an additional parameter to evaluate the swallow physiology. Furthermore, the biphasic baropressure responses in the early and late phases could reflect functional aspects of the swallowing reflexes.
