Differential expression profiles of circulating microRNAs in newborns associated to maternal pregestational overweight and obesity
Pediatric Obesity Oct 20, 2017
Mendez-Mancilla A, et al. - This study was performed on neonates born to overweight and obese women, to analyze the expression profile of four circulating microRNAs and cytokine serum concentrations in these subjects. Infants born to obese women vs. normal weight women exhibited difference in the expression of miR-155, miR-181a and miR-221. Furthermore, a possible participation of changes in microRNA expression was found in the epigenetic foetal programming of metabolic disorders in children born to obese women.
