Differential expression of E-cadherin and P-cadherin in pT3 prostate cancer: Correlation with clinical and pathological features
Virchows Archiv Jul 18, 2018
Ferreira C, et al. - The prognostic value and survival impact of E-cadherin and P-cadherin immunoexpression in pT3 prostate cancer (PCa) were evaluated in this analysis. Radical prostatectomy (RP) specimens from 102 pT3 PCa subjects treated in a single institution between 1991 and 2014 were selected for E-cadherin and P-cadherin immunoexpression analysis. Although not reaching statistical significance, E-cadherin-low PCa subjects demonstrated worse disease-specific survival (DSS). Researchers found a correlation between E-cadherin and P-cadherin immunoexpression and showed that low E-cadherin immunoexpression discriminates those with poorer survival among pT3b PCa subjects, and which might benefit from specific therapy.
