Different ventilation techniques and hemodynamic optimization to maintain regional cerebral oxygen saturation (rScO2) during laparoscopic bariatric surgery: A prospective randomized interventional study
Journal of Anesthesia Apr 11, 2018
Asaad OM - The impact of different ventilation strategies [inspired oxygen concentration (FiO2), end-tidal carbon dioxide (EtCO2), and positive end expiratory pressure (PEEP)] on regional cerebral oxygen saturation (rScO2) was assessed in obese patients subjected to laparoscopic bariatric surgery in the reverse trendelenburg position in addition to optimizing mean arterial pressure (MAP) in these patients. It was noted that rScO2 was improved in these patients as a result of adjustment of ventilation strategies and hemodynamic optimization.
