Differences in the reponses to apheresis therapy of patients with 3 histopathologically classified immunopathological patterns of multiple sclerosis
JAMA Neurology Feb 10, 2018
Stork L, et al. - During this trial, the apheresis response associated with histopathologically defined immunopathological patterns of multiple sclerosis was comprehensively analyzed. Findings illustrated that the response to apheresis treatment was related to immunopathological patterns. Clinical improvement was noted in patients with both patterns 1 and 2 following apheresis treatment. Nevertheless, pattern 2 patients who exhibited signs of a humoral immune response benefited most. It was reported that apheresis was unlikely to benefit patients with pattern 3 lesions.
