Differences in survival and mortality in minority ethnic groups with dementia: A systematic review and meta‐analysis
International Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry Jun 23, 2021
Co M, Couch E, Gao Q, et al. - A systematical review of the literature was performed with the aim to determine racial/ethnic disparities in survival and mortality in dementia. From Embase, Ovid MEDLINE, Global Health, and PsycINFO, 22 articles were identified from inception to November 2018, most were from the US (n = 17), as well as the UK (n = 3) and the Netherlands (n = 1). Findings from a meta-analysis of US studies indicated lower mortality in dementia among Black/African American and Hispanic/Latino groups relative to comparison groups in the US.
