Fertility and Sterility Aug 25, 2020
Adeleye A, Cruz K, Pasch L, et al. - Via this prospective cohort study of women undergoing their first ovarian stimulation cycle as part of a randomized clinical trial, the Learning from Online Video Education (LOVE) study, researchers sought to determine if the purpose of ovarian stimulation (oocyte cryopreservation [OC] vs in vitro fertilization (IVF) is linked with perceived stress before or after ovarian stimulation; and if perceived stress is linked with ovarian stimulation outcomes. Participants were administered questionnaire before and after ovarian stimulation to obtain data. Analysis revealed higher stress levels among IVF patients compared with OC patients; the stress reduces after ovarian stimulation. No effect of perceived stress on oocyte yield was observed.
