Differences in myocardial strain between pectus excavatum patients and healthy subjects assessed by cardiac MRI: A pilot study
European Radiology Feb 17, 2018
Lollert A, et al. - The differences in myocardial strain between pectus excavatum (PE) patients and healthy subjects (HS) assessed by cardiac MRI using the feature-tracking algorithm were determined. PE patients and HS differed regarding myocardial strain. In the mid- and apical-ventricles of PE patients, higher myocardial strain was noted, thus indicating a compensatory mechanism to improve ventricular output against basal sternal compression.
