Differences in cervical length in African American and non-African American women
American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology Jan 22, 2018
Temming LA, et al. - The incidence of short cervix and its associations with preterm birth (PTB) among African American (AA) and non-AA women were determined in this study. Compared to non-AA women, AA women were more than twice prone to have short cervix. Among AA and non-AA women, short cervix was found to be associated with similarly high rates of PTB. Findings thereby highlight the importance of cervical length screening and treatment in AA and non-AA women.
