Dietary patterns and ovarian reserve among women attending a fertility clinic
Fertility and Sterility Jul 27, 2020
Maldonado-Cárceles AB, Mínguez-Alarcón L, Souter I, et al. - Via this prospective cohort study, researchers sought to determine the correlations between dietary patterns and antral follicle count (AFC), a marker of ovarian reserve. Using a food frequency questionnaire, diet was assessed at enrollment among 363 women seeking preconception evaluation and infertility care at the Massachusetts General Hospital who participated in the Environment and Reproductive Health Study. Three dietary pattern adherence scores were computed based on the data assessed: the Mediterranean diet, the Fertility diet, and the Profertility diet. Analysis revealed no correlation of dietary patterns with AFC in this cohort of women.
