Dietary patterns and longitudinal change in hip bone mineral density among older men
Osteoporosis International Feb 22, 2018
Rogers TS, et al. - In this trial, the baseline dietary patterns were identified using factor analysis in a cohort of older men. Experts also assessed if the dietary patterns were related to the bone mineral density change (%ΔBMD) at the total hip and femoral neck over time. They noted an inverse relation between adherence to the Prudent pattern (rich in vegetables and fish) and total hip %ΔBMD. Total hip BMD loss (%ΔBMD) could be attenuated by greater adherence to a Prudent dietary pattern in older men.
