The Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology: In Practice Mar 04, 2018
Dua S, et al. - Researchers herein investigated if tryptase rises in food allergic reactions, optimal sampling time points, and a diagnostic cutoff for confirming a clinical reaction. Findings were indicative of serum tryptase measurement being valuable in food allergic reactions. Moreover, its correlation with symptom severity was also noted. It was important to compare peak reaction levels at 2 hours with baseline. Data also demonstrated an association of a rise in tryptase of 30% with food allergic reactions.
