Diagnostic utility of penile ultrasound in Peyronie disease
World Journal of Urology Feb 07, 2020
McCauley JF, et al. - This study was intended to examine the literature regarding the utility of penile ultrasound in the evaluation and management of Peyronie disease. Researchers conducted a literature review using PubMed between 1980 and 2018 applying the keywords: Peyronie disease, ultrasound, sonography, calcification, penile fracture, and penile hematoma. At the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center between 2014 and 2018, images were reviewed from 227 penile ultrasounds of Peyronie disease patients. In the treatment of individuals with Peyronie disease, the application of B-mode ultrasound with color Doppler in the evaluation and management of Peyronie disease is a fast, cost-effective method that gives objective information that can assist the urologist.
