Diagnostic delay in Canadian children with inflammatory bowel disease is more common in Crohn's disease and associated with decreased height

Ricciuto A, et al. - The target of the experts was to investigate the time to diagnosis in a paediatric inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) cohort as well as the relative contribution of the component intervals. They also coveted a determination of the factors linked with diagnostic delay. It was observed that diagnostic delay was more common in Crohn’s disease (CD). It correlated with height impairment that persisted 1 year following the presentation. Findings demonstrated that the greatest contributor to time to diagnosis was the time from symptom onset to referral.
