Diagnostic approach to subcutaneous nodules in patients with neuroendocrine tumors treated with depot somatostatin analogs: A cross-sectional study
Journal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology Feb 06, 2018
Chicharro P, et al. - The clinical, radiologic, cytologic, and histopathologic features of subcutaneous nodules in individuals with gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (GEP-NETs) treated with somatostatin analogs (SSAs) were determined. High resolution and color Doppler ultrasonography was shown to be very useful for the differential diagnosis of subcutaneous nodules in patients with GEP-NETs treated with SSAs. It was determined that fine-needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) and biopsy are beneficial tests for diagnosis confirmation in patients with inconclusive findings.
