Diagnostic and prognostic benefits of computed tomography coronary angiography using the 2016 National Institute for Health and Care Excellence guidance within a randomised trial
Heart Sep 04, 2017
Adamson PD, et al. – The diagnostic and prognostic benefits of CT coronary angiography (CTCA) were appraised in this study, using the 2016 National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidelines for the assessment of suspected stable angina. It was demonstrated that use of NICE guidelines for the patient selection maximized the benefits of CTCA on diagnostic certainty, use of invasive coronary angiography and attenuations in fatal and non–fatal myocardial infarction. Furthermore, CTCA maximally benefitted patients with non–anginal chest pain and increased the rates of invasive investigation.
