Ospina NS, et al. - Using a search strategy designed by an experienced medical librarian from beginning to March 2015, researchers searched for multiple electronic databases to summarize evidence of growth diagnostic accuracy during the follow-up of benign thyroid nodules for thyroid cancer. According to the findings, the evidence that nodule growth is linked to thyroid cancer in the follow-up of benign nodules guarantees very little confidence. In the era of high- value health care, the common practice of following benign thyroid nodules with a serial ultrasound evaluation of growth to diagnose cancer can be challenged, calling for imminent evaluation.
