Diagnostic accuracy of magnetic resonance imaging in assessing placental adhesion disorder in patients with placenta previa: Correlation with histological findings
European Journal of Radiology Jul 25, 2018
Maurea S, et al. - Researchers assessed magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) accuracy in evaluating placental adhesion disorders (PAD) in patients with placenta previa correlating imaging results with histological findings via prospectively evaluating 61 patients who had abdomino-pelvic MRI for ultrasound suspicion of PAD. In patients with placenta previa, MRI was accurate to evaluate PAD. The most accurate criterion to identify PAD was the presence of at least two among all the abnormal MRI signs represents. Data reported that intraplacental dark bands and focal interruption of myometrial borders were highly associated with the histological proof of PAD.
