Lee SH, et al. - Researchers undertook a comparison of the diagnostic performance of low-dose (LD) lumbar-spine (L-spine) CT with that of standard-dose (SD) L-spine CT for lumbar spinal fractures using model-based iterative reconstruction. Excellent diagnostic accuracy was demonstrated by LD L-spine CT. The accuracy was comparable to that of SD L-spine CT. The suggested treatment decision did not vary between both CT scans. Therefore, LD L-spine CT could be regarded as a potential first-line diagnostic tool.
