Yoshioka D, et al. - In this study, the clinical outcomes of valve surgery for infective endocarditis (IE) in diabetes mellitus (DM) patients were evaluated. Findings suggested that the short- and mid-term outcome after valve surgery for active IE in DM patients was worse because of the higher prevalence of infection-related death and IE recurrence.
