Kundra TS, et al. - Dexmedetomidine, a selective α-2 agonist, was tested as a prophylactic for skeletal muscle ischemia-reperfusion injury in patients undergoing aortobifemoral bypass surgery. Researchers found that dexmedetomidine prevented skeletal muscle ischemia-reperfusion injury in this patient population.
